Getting Miro

Sid / Unstable

Current Version: 0.9.9.1 -- available in the debian repositories. Just type apt-get install miro as root.

Etch / Stable If you are running Debian Etch and if you are running an i386 system (most AMD and Intel processors, depending on how you did your install), then you need to:

1. Modify /etc/apt/sources.list and replace your main source repository with this while making sure to store the original setting since you will need to go back to them later:

deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian sid main

2. Update the package listings

apt-get update

3. Install Miro

apt-get install miro

4. Now you need to change your repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list to go back to what you had before.

5. Restore package listings to what they were before

apt-get update

And if you don't have an i386 system, then you need to install from source, which is described here: Building Miro from Source.
